Worst Tea in Whole World, Have You Heard Of It.......

“Chai, Garam Chai” “ Kela Lelo,Ek Dum Taaza” “Bread omelette” and no one can forget this one with a special sound “Chaiiiii, Chaiiii,Chaiiii” continuous tone with a specific sound.” You can’t see India to every bits of it until n unless you travel by Indian Railways”. I generally travel through Howrah-Delhi route and I saw this great marketing technique while crossing from KIUL or Patna I don’t remember exactly. It was evening time and everyone wanted something for snacks and when we talk of Indians snacks “Chai is the most loved drink in snacks”. Train stopped at the station and someone entered our compartment, tall, fat, all in one word Massive man, among all the shouts of “Chai, Garam Chai” “ Kela Lelo,Ek Dum Taaza” “Bread omelette”,there came a unique shout “Kharaab Chai, Kharaab se Kharaab Chai Piyo,Ek dum Kharaab Chai”, that was the moment I saw everyone’s ear pinna stood up and everyone started to look towards him, he entered and many people started to buy, I also tried it and after completely drinking one cup I asked for another it was awesome.
Next time I travelled by the same route and I again found someone shouting “Kharaab chai, Kharaab chai”, I became excited and asked for chai, he served it ,this time there was someone different. I drank and i said bhaiya ish mein toh Paani bohot Hai, aisi chai hoti Hai kya??” and he said “Bhaiya hum toh pehle hi bole the, Kharaab chai Hai”
Probable benefits of using Negative promotion:
1. Differentiated product
2. Better Positioning
3. Brand Recall

Marketing Mix

I vividly remember my journeys on the Indian trains between Lucknow and Kanpur as a child. What is most prominent in the memory is the old 'moongfali' seller whom, I am sure, everyone in the train noticed and bought moongfalis from. His sweet jingle attracted all the passengers and in fact became his USP which made everyone buy a small packet from him almost daily. In his melodious voice he sang something which went like this - "Na mak ke daam moongfalli inaam". And very true to his claim we all relished the small paper packet of  masala salt that he gave with the moongfali packet. Today when I sit back and recollect his selling efforts I feel like saluting his understanding of his buyers. His buyers were the typical middle class travelers like me who were on those trains traveling to and fro their work places in the cities that lay between Lucknow and Kanpur. So one can easily reason that this travel had become a hated necessity for most of them. They were thu...
